Few adults dare enter Bandjoun Station. They attribute witchcraft and black magic to the place. Children, however, rush into the place, ignoring their parents’ prohibitions. They come to see the artists at work.

This painting reflects a moment in life, captured in the heart of Cameroon during an artist residency. It captures the simplicity and depth of everyday life: children in uniform descend a time-worn staircase, sharing a moment of exchange, movement, and complicity. The play of glances, between carelessness and concentration, tells a story specific to each of them. The texture of the walls, the warm shades, and the shadow cast by the railing anchor these figures in a living space, imbued with memories and silent stories. This work is an invitation to observe the poetry of everyday life, to feel the energy of these places, to imagine these children who, between laughter and reflection, move toward their future.
