Acrobatic games between “father-mother” and child. One of my favorite sculptures, I worked a lot on the shape of the trunks that delicately touch each other. A variation of acrobatic elephants with knowing looks.

• Sophie Verger sculpts poems, entire tales in one piece… All these oppositions were only a step towards learning to resist everything that would never again be experienced in the indulgence of childhood. What mattered after all was to have undeniable support in the face of the adult world, if we conform to the herd to the detriment of our own lives, we let the child that we are disappear completely and will never be whole.

• She is a fairy who knows how to transform an emotion into an animal, a sensation, a feeling into a recovered memory. She also suggests with a lot of humor, a kind identification with the animal model, with, beyond this observation, the fact that, in all her work, the child alone has his place with him: spontaneously capable of including the existence of the beast in his own fundamental values.

• World of absurdity. Worlds of humans. World of humor. A universe of strange beings where man and beast often merge. A world that no one really believes in, but which must continue, pursue its existence. Condemned to exist.
